A Slow Ride Into the Dunes

The Thar Desert begins just beyond Salawas, and there's no better way to feel its scale than from the back of a camel, swaying slowly toward the horizon as the light turns amber. Our camel safari is unhurried by design — this is about the journey and the view, not covering distance.

Camels and handlers are sourced from local families who've worked with these animals for generations, and every ride is accompanied by an experienced handler on foot or camel throughout.

What to Expect

  • Gentle, guided ride suitable for complete beginners
  • Timed to reach the dunes for sunset
  • Chai and light snacks served in the sand
  • Optional folk music around the dunes, subject to availability

Want to Stay Longer?

Guests who want more than a sunset ride can ask about an overnight desert camp add-on — a night under canvas beneath a sky with almost no light pollution. Speak to reception to check availability and pricing for your dates.
